OLD BALLANTRUAN PEATED GLENLIVET Heavily peated with good medicinal notes, but no iodine or brine as from an Islay. Very soft, perfectly mature and excellent on it's own merits, nice swallow - hot and zingy.

SPRINGBANK CLARET WOOD A lovely red tinge belies the 3 years spent in claret wood after 9 years in refill bourbon. There is must (mushrooms), sweetness (Ribena) and it’s very aromatic, nice. Water releases more bitter notes and a whiff of smoke. To taste it is soft and juicy, a little extra on the bitter buds with a cherry vapour, it sure sets the tongue a’buzzin. Very enjoyable but not as complex as the Springbank’s Madeira offering.

BRUICHLADDICH OCTOMORE ORPHEUS A 5yo heavily peated Octomore style Bruichladdich matured in Ch Petrus casks, limited to 15,000 bottles. Peaty. Very-very oily. Fruity (lemons). Mostly oily-peat. An oily swallow. Peat and bitter start to the finish, a smouldering bonfire.

PLEASE NOTE; WHISKY MAY CHANGE

Living cask enthusiast Jack Mangus writes, “The folks at Loch Fyne Whiskies have cleverly produced a continually marketable and intriguing vatted whisky. I can’t wait for the next volume! Thanks to Professor George Saintsbury for his inspiration and LFW for The Living Cask!”
