Friday 27
April: set off from home to Edinburgh, where
we were meeting a group from Sweden, on a
whisky tour. Met up with our coach and
driver (Allan), we both drove to the airport
to meet the group. Theye were on time and
smiling as I met up with them. Arne had
been before to Scotland with us - so it was
like meeting an old friend. We boarded and
set out for Edinburgh city, where we did a
wee city tour before dropping our guests at
Deacon Brodies for lunch. They then had
some free time until 3.30 whilst myself and
Allan dropped off their luggage to the
hotel. We met them at the castle, then
drove them back to the hotel, where we had
arranged a meeting room for them with dinner
to follow, as agreed. See you tomorrow!

Saturday 28 April: Bless her wee cotton
socks! Our newest member of the team met us
at Edinburgh bus station at 08.25, she had
travelled down from Perth to be with us
today: Liz McIntyre. A lovely thing she is
and proved popular on the tour today. We
met the group at 9am at the hotel and set
out for the day - a whisky tour (and a
half!). Tullibardine was first as we
arrived to be met and shown around with a
personal tasting and tour of the storehouse,
where our group (some members of a whisky
club at home) owned a cask. Did they sample
the water of life? Er, aye, three
times in fact! Much whisky was bought!
So where next? the Famous Grouse! We
had an extended tour there with a 5 whisky
tasting session. To be honest it was a
wee bit of a letdown on the tour, which we
won't go into. Soup & sandwiches followed.
It was a lovely day, where to next you ask?
Well, another distillery actually ...
Edradour, the smallest in Scotland. A tour
with yet another dram, before driving south
to Perth. We stopped for diner at my local
pub where we had dinner and, aye, more
drinks! Liz was excellent as she works
there, she had organised everything and it
went smoothly! Thanks Liz, great job all
day! Allan was dining with us and all of us
enjoyed the evening, some sleeping as we
headed back to Edinburgh where we dropped
off at the hotel. Night all!

Sunday 29 April: late start today as we all
enjoy a sleep in. Pick up at 11.30 and away
to Rosslyn Chapel. Good tour followed by
lunch and a drink at the village, before,
yep, you guessed, a distillery - Glenkinchie,
where a tour was followed by a few drams.
Back to Edinburgh where dinner awaited at
the Dome. A really nice group they were and
we were happy to look after them
Monday 30 April: sadly most of the group
flew home this afternoon (16.00) whilst two
couple stayed on, one for golf and the other
general sightseeing and a visit to the
Scotch Malt Whisky Association (using our
membership cards). Bye bye's at the airport
and hotel as we bid a fond farewell to all
our guests in Edinburgh.
We can design whisky tours such as this for
anyone, any duration, and distillery or many
distilleries. Please ask us and we can chat
to you about YOUR favourite dram.
